Jeremy happened to turn the BIG 30 on the day the Brazilian Soccer Team was playing Canada at Qwest Field in Seattle. What are the chances!? Since seeing the 5 time winning world cup soccer team play is a once in a lifetime opportunity, Jer's mission buddy, Doug and his family flew in from Idaho just for the game... and to hang out with us, of course.
We got to do a little site seeing in the morning: Did some shopping downtown, walked through Pike Place and ate at Spaghetti Factory at the request of the Birthday Boy.

With the kiddos in good hands (thanks Mom and Dad) we were able to go to the game solo!

The Game: It was fun, crazy, loud, exciting... it was a blast!
FINAL SCORE:
This is Chocolate Texas Cake. I think I have it down after almost 7 years of making it. It's Jer's MUST HAVE Birthday Cake every year! It MUST be served with Peanut Butter and Chocolate Ice-Cream. (Please note the Brazilian colors)
What a fun, memorable weekend. I don't think Jer will ever forget this birthday!

So, I didn't catch who he was rooting for. I hope that it was the winning team! Now I need your recipe for that cake! Aaahh, how would it be to be 30 (Ok, I'd prefer 29), BUT I still kept thinking I was 30 until Mike informed me that I am actually 31. Darn him.
Did you forget Tanner on this trip? Was he at home watching the grass grow? Just kidding, but don't neglect the kid pics. . . love the one's of Max. And I guess it is fun to see some of you and Jer every now and again. . . :)
Happy Birthday Jeremy! That sounds like an awesome birthday!! I better not let Bret read this post or else his expectations for birthdays will soar through the roof! :)
How fun! We actually watched that game up here in Canada...! O'well, you can't win them all, go Canada!! I don't feel bad cheering for them since they aren't playing the US. Hope all is well!!
Hey, it's Melanie (Messick) Miller from Ricks! I knew Jeremy and my college roommate Laura found your blog. It's good to see your family is happy and healthy and super cute! We're in Omaha (pretty random, but we like it!) with two little ones. My blog is private, but if you send me your email address, I can send an invite to see it. Anyway, take care!
